"Before I went to CTI, I worked two jobs to pay my house and vehicle payments and to support my family. I was pretty depressed at the direction my life was going....which was nowhere. By accident, I stumbled across CTI's website and I responded. Someone called me the next day and explained the program to me. I discussed it with my wife and decided to take a shot. At first I thought there's no way I'm going to get accepted and approved. But sure enough, I did! That was the best decision I've made in a while.
When I arrived in Alabama, I didn't know anyone and I was in a strange place. The next day I met some really great people - people I talk to every day since I've graduated. The first day of school was overwhelming and I didn't think I was going to be able to do this. First, I'm not book smart and I can't learn from a book. I'm the type of person who has to learn it hands on. But the way they teach you in the classroom and then show it to you in the lab - it works! The instructors are wonderful, they really know how to help you learn. If you feel you are not getting something, they go out of their way to help you. By the fourth week I was ready to go to work.
When I left the school, I had seven interviews over a three day period. The first six went nowhere and I was so discouraged and ready to give up. I decided to go on my last interview and just try to find work doing anything I could to pay the bills. I landed the job that day and I couldn't be any happier with the job I got. You hear that good things come to those who wait, but I never believed it until now. The job I got is working on 1-300 ton chillers making good money with the potential to make $33/hour in two years! Who would have thought that was possible? Certainly not me!! So to CTI and Instructors: You are awesome! I would recommend this to anyone. And to Job Placement: The only thing I can say to justify the way I feel is YOU GUYS ROCK! I am so thankful for the opportunity."
